Curtis Wharton

As President of Schlecht | Wharton Construction, Curtis Wharton brings decades of hands-on experience, leadership, and heart to every project. A lifelong builder, Curtis began his construction career early—financing his teenage love of cars and sports by roofing, painting, and renovating homes throughout Battle Ground, Washington. By the 1990s, he had launched his own company, Wharton Construction, specializing in home renovations, custom builds, and light commercial work across the Pacific Northwest.

Curtis’s portfolio includes everything from cabins and churches to schools, warehouses, and residential developments. His deep commitment to faith, family, and community also shaped his work in disaster recovery, helping families rebuild not just their homes, but their lives—with empathy, respect, and a warm meal when it mattered most.

Today, Curtis leads the Schlecht | Wharton team with a builder’s mindset and a people-first approach. He’s known for his boots-on-the-ground leadership, creative problem-solving, and commitment to getting the job done right. Whether he’s working with clients, city officials, or the project crew, Curtis ensures every build reflects the core values of quality, integrity, and community stewardship.
