A Tradition of Quality

For two generations Schlecht Construction, Inc. has been providing high-quality general contracting in Washington and Oregon communities. Ray Schlecht started the business in 1965, first building residential and commercial structures, then moving into complex commercial and industrial projects.

Today, under the direction of Ray's son, Larry, we continue the tradition of providing high-quality, reliable contracting and construction services. We've expanded our market to all types of commercial and industrial buildings, including concrete tilt-up and pre-engineered metal structures.

Over the years, we have found that our primary asset is our employees, many of whom have been with the company for more than 20 years. In addition to providing them with incentives to perform high-quality work, we also offer ways to advance their development—and, by extension, our own—through company-sponsored educational programs that foster self-respect and pride.

Community service is important at Schlecht Construction. We are:

• Members of Kelso and Woodland Rotary clubs, the Cowlitz Economic Development Council, the Association of Washington Business, the Columbia River Economic Development Council, and the Vancouver, Woodland, and Kelso-Longview Chambers of Commerce.
• Current and past leaders of the Board of Directors for the Lower Columbia Contractors Association and the Southwest Washington Contractors Association.
• Annual contributors to numerous charitable organizations and youth programs.

We've acquired a reputation as an innovator and leader in our industry and as a company that makes a positive impact in the communities we serve. This is the foundation upon which we've built Schlecht Construction.
