About Curtis

Meet Curtis Wharton

You can say Curtis Wharton was born with a hammer and nail in hand.  By the time he was in high school, he was able to finance his love for cars, trucks and sports by working and renovating homes in and around Battleground Washington. Anything from roofing, painting, building fences or putting a barn up for neighbors, Curtis had the “calling” to be a general contractor.

He started Wharton Construction in the 90’s, focusing on home renovation, and new builds. Curtis’s portfolio ranges from houses, cabins, schools, churches, warehouses and pretty much anything with “four walls and a roof”.

His commitment to faith, community, and family led him to expand Wharton Construction as a insurance – disaster – relief partner. Anyone can help put a house, condo or apartment back to it’s original state after such distruction, but “NO ONE” takes the time to extend a olive branch to the families and person’s that are effected by such a tragedy. He has always taken the time to navigate the emotional toll a fire or flood can do to ones’ spirit by simply listening, bringing a warm meal, or finding a place for them to stay while the job is being done.

As Schlecht Constructions President, Curtis is responsible for carrying out the mission, vision, and values of Schlecht Construction and provides solutions and direction to all our projects by lending his expertise in budget, scheduling and identifying the best solution to any problem that may arise.  He’s the “Matrix” of construction with a “Pretty Boy” smile!  There has yet to be a job that has beat Curtis; he’s always on site discussing ideas with the team, answers any calls from clients and works closely with the city, county and developers to assure everyone is on the same team while shaping the landscape of communities through the design and build!

Curtis spends his free time racing motorcycles with his kids (yes you read that correctly) or spending time with his Wife Bonnie creating memories with their grandkids.
