Continued growth has led Schlecht Construction to hire two new employees. In early September, the Kelso company announced the addition of Tamara Olson and Bobbi Leider. Olson will serve as a project assistant and Leider as an accounting assistant.
Leider, who previously owned and operated Bean Me Up Espresso and Deli in Longview, worked as an administrative secretary in the Kelso School District’s transportation department for the past ten years. She has extensive experience with a wide range of office procedures and technologies.
Olson was employed as a loan processor for Bridgeport Lending and a project manager for St. Cloud Homes, where she was responsible for soliciting bids, working with contractors and sub-contractors, and ensuring compliance with codes and procedures.
Schlecht Construction has multiple projects underway at this time in southwest Washington. The company is the general contractor for Catlin Investment’s office complex on West Main in Kelso. Another prominent project is a new facility for Storedahl Enterprises in Kelso.
Schlecht is also the general contractor for a prototype “energy smart” office complex in Vancouver. The 157th Plaza project is a joint effort by the Bonneville Power Administration and Clark Public Utilities to utilize state-of-the-art energy-saving strategies that will reduce greenhouse emissions.
