Tracey Malone, office manager at Schlecht Construction’s branch office in Vancouver, celebrated her tenth year with the company in March.

Malone’s rise from receptionist to office manager has brought her many new responsibilities with the Kelso-based company, which specializes in commercial and industrial projects. Schlecht opened its Vancouver office in 1996 and has steadily increased both its staff and its Clark County presence.
Malone writes contracts, manages the request for bids process, and handles the invoicing for Vancouver projects. She also assists with project planning and coordination. Malone is the property manager for Schlecht’s Heritage Centre – a light industrial complex in Woodland – and serves as secretary for the Woodland Industrial Stormwater Association.
“Tracey has been invaluable to our company and plays a major part in our success in Clark County,” said Schlecht vice president Bryan Halbert. “Each year she’s been with us, she has stepped up and taken on more responsibility.”
Malone said she appreciates the family atmosphere at Schlecht. “I was able to work reduced hours for a period of time after each of my children were born,” she said. “Everyone at Schlecht was very accommodating.”
Malone graduated from Camas High School in 1994 and earned an associate’s degree at Clark College in 1997. She and her husband, Andy, have two children, Abby (3) and Logan (1).
